Data We Collect

Hex Lobby is designed to collect as little data as possible. Most games require no account. An optional free account unlocks leaderboard participation and cross-device progress tracking.

If you create an account (optional)

  • Email address — used to identify your account. Never shared with third parties.
  • Display username — shown on leaderboards and in-game. Chosen by you.
  • Google account name and profile photo — only if you sign in with Google. Used for display purposes only.
  • Crossquest progress and scores — your daily puzzle progress and leaderboard entries, stored against your account.
  • Colour Crumble scores — leaderboard entries linked to your account username.
  • A persistent remember-me cookie — keeps you signed in for up to 30 days.

Without an account (all party games, Colour Crumble guest play)

  • Player names — held in an ephemeral in-memory database for the duration of a game session. All game data is wiped whenever the server restarts.
  • User-submitted drawings and text — stored temporarily on the server during gameplay only. These are not shared externally and are deleted when the server restarts.
  • Colour Crumble guest username and score — entered when you submit a guest score to the leaderboard.

Cookies (all visitors)

  • Session cookies — used to track your active game session. Expire after 30 days of inactivity.
  • Player tracking cookies — used to reconnect you to a game if you refresh or rejoin. Expire after 24 hours.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • No location data
  • No device fingerprinting
  • No analytics or behavioural tracking
  • No data is ever sold or shared with third parties (beyond the ad and auth services listed below)
